Super Fun Time At The Mother-Son Forest Adventure

Earlier this month, the moms and the sons of Calvary Chapel Okinawa went on an adventure. 

Where did they go? While there are many places to venture out here in Okinawa, Forest Adventure Park is definitely one of the most exciting. 

After arriving at the course, everyone got their harnesses fastened, took a few group photos, and went through a safety briefing. The workers were all super nice and explained the rules on how to successfully clip on, climb across, and zip-line down. They were focused on safety, which is always a good thing. 

After the briefing was the trial run. Most people will tell you that this is one of the scariest parts of the whole park, because you don’t know what to expect yet. 

Once everyone went through the trial, it was time for the real deal. Off they went, zip, zip, zip!

It was a great time of bonding and fellowship for everyone, especially for the moms and their sons. 

One of the best things about this event was how encouraging everyone was. Whether it be a smooth landing, not-so smooth landing, or fear of stepping off of the platform, you could hear shouts of “You can do it!”, “Are you ok?”, and “Great job! That was awesome!” 

The Mother-Son Forest Adventure turned out to be a great event. God held back the rain until the end of the course, and on top of that, it never got too hot. The day ended with smiles, slight soreness, and a little bit of mud.

Forest Adventure Park is not only for those of you who are brave or love adventure. It is also great for conquering your fear of heights.

There were a few who were afraid to go, but by the end of the day, everyone had zipped through the forest. Fears were conquered and memories were made!

Forest Adventure Park Quick Info

The Forest Adventure Park was designed and developed by French company ALTUS, who specialises in  high-wire adventure courses. The course in Okinawa was designed with all ages in mind, with various levels of difficulty throughout.  It is a welcome alternative to the abundant beach activities you find in Okinawa. You may get a little bruised up and dirty as you go through the course, but that only lasts but a few days. The memories you make will last at least a few years ;)

Note:
Participants must be over 140cm(4'7'') and weigh less than 130kg(286lbs). One adult can supervise up to two children(kids under 18). The first group starts at 9am and the final group must be registered by 3pm. The park is closed on rainy days.
